Bill Geise

Bill Geise manages the community garden for the Falmouth Service Center, in Falmouth, Massachusetts… This is a successful organic garden with close ties to the community food bank… Washington, DC, is a major city with a large low-income population. The White House farmer should be able to work with a variety of racial and ethnic groups in an urban setting…. The concerns of low-income people with little experience in farming need special attention…. Bill Geise is a community gardener with the right kind of experience for the job.

Alden Booth

Firstly, Alden has been growing organically for 25 years on 3 acres of land, he supplies his own restaurant with fresh produce and is a fantastic cook so he would know how to work directly with the White House chef. He knows how to grow a wide range of produce. He has cultivated soil that was previously a back yard and woods so would know how to tackle the South Lawn, and not the least importantly, he can play basketball, so if Obama is looking for another player for a game on the new White House court, he can call into the garden for a teammate.
