Anna Mische John
Anna is the future of organic farming. With a degree in environmental science and ten years of experience working on experiemental and organic farms, she is the perfect combination of experience, knowledge, and youthful energy, ready to take on the important task of growing America’s produce. Anna lived in Washington, DC for two years, crusading for the environment at a local think tank. Feeling disconnected from the land, she began an apprenticeship at one of the first organic, Community Supported Agriculture farms, growing beautiful food and flowers in the coastal climate of Long Island, New York. Anna has long dreamed of working her own bit of land, feeding her community with food that nourishes the body, soul, and land. Her apprenticeship in Long Island, and as Field and Harvest Coordinator for a large diversified fruit and vegetable farm in the Midwest are part of a deliberate, thoughtful process of fulfilling that dream. Anna will bring to the White House Farm her commitment to changing the way people think about and are connected to their food and the natural world, creating a productive and sustainable farm that will nourish the First Family and demonstrate the benefits of eating closer to home.
